Candle Care and Safety

Candle Care and Safety

Before lighting your candle, trim the wick to 1/4-inch length. Shortening the wick  helps to keep the candle burning clean.

Each time you burn your candle, allow the candle to form a melt pool to the edges of the container. Wax has memory, and allowing the candle to form a melt pool to the edges of the container helps the candle to burn evenly.

Burn your candle in a well-ventilated area that is free of drafts to ensure your candle burns properly.

Do not burn your candle for more than four hours in a single burning session.  Allow your candle to cool for at least two hours between burning sessions.

Burn within sight: Keep any burning candles within sight, and extinguish all burning candles before leaving a room. Never leave a lit candle unattended. Make sure your candle is completely extinguished before leaving the room.

Keep away from combustibles: Keep burning candles away from  furniture, drapes, bedding, carpets, books, paper, and any other flammable objects. Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire.

Keep away from children: Make sure your candles are unreachable to children and pets. Place candles in a secure area where they cannot be knocked over by children, pets, or anyone else.

Additional Candle Care and Safety

Keep your candle's wax pool clear of debris.

Do not touch or move your candle while it is burning. After extinguishing your candle, wait until your candle has cooled completely before moving it.

Discontinue burning your candle when 1/2 inch of wax remains.

In the event the flame of your candle becomes too high or flickers repeatedly, extinguish your candle immediately and allow your candle to cool. Before re-lighting your candle, trim your candle wick to 1/4"  and ensure there are no drafts where the candle is placed.

Use a candle snuffer to extinguish your candle. Never use liquids to extinguish your candle.

Do not burn your candle or place a hot candle on a cold surface.
